Help for family members and carers

Caring for persons with disability can be taxing for family members and carers. At times the family members, partners and support workers would find it overwhelming to continuously care for them without any break and sometimes they are also at the receiving end of the disabled persons frustrations and anger.

Research is pointing to the fact that carers and support workers need their socio-emotional needs addressed in therapeutic relationships with psychologists and counsellors to help them cope with the challenges of their job.

So at Potentialz we also help carers and  support workers meet their socio-emotional needs through therapy and  counselling sessions in a safe and supportive environment. Such sessions give them an opportunity to discuss their concerns and explore ways of solving the problems and explore additional support options available through Government and Non-profits for people in their care.

What is NDIS?

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) aims to provide about 460,000 Australians aged under 65, who have permanent and significant disability with funding for supports and services. For many people, it will be the first time they receive the disability support they need.
